Style and fashion make a remarkable couple, and we’re privy to witness the marriage between the two venturing forth, breaking boundaries and elevating individual expression. With the growing trend of androgynous pieces seeking their way into designer collections, the shifting attitudes towards tailored / fitted garments is quickly starting to blur the line which separate the defining traits of menswear and womenswear. Though majority of us have these bolstered images of the ideal woman, i.e. the sensual silhouette of a woman in a tailored dress / evening gown that is cemented in men’s thoughts, there is a casual sexiness about a woman who incorporates a few basic menswear pieces into her attire. Maybe it’s the moment when you catch yourself involuntarily staring, attempting to understand how she pulled this off and why did she look so good? Maybe it’s the confidence she exudes in the freedom to wear something besides petticoats and skirts (*may not be the case every time, but I’m starting to see it happen more often than not*)
Whatever maybe the case, this is one trend I am in full support of, so ladies thank you for crossing these boundaries and venturing into the MARTIAN plains of menswear.
